Hello, and thank you for visiting my page!

Who am I?
My name is Andrea Duckworth. I am an 18 year old Canadian born and raised in Montreal and a second year student in the three year career program for GWD (Graphic and Web Design). Two years ago I graduated from Macdonald High School with an award in art. To this day, I still consider art to be my number one passion in life.
What’s most enjoyable in design?
As much as I like a large majority of my courses, I often find my self liking the classes more focused on programming, vectors, and photography. These classes let me express creativity while following structure, which I really like.
Where do I see myself?
I hope to see myself in a job involving design, but only time will tell.
When did graphic design first appeal to me?
For my whole life, I’ve always liked just looking at things. Graphics, illustrations, websites, and beyond. It’s always been an interest of mine to just take note of what I liked and didn’t like about what I was looking at. But, graphic design in particular first interested me in my last year of high school.
It was nearing the end of the school year and around the time students had to register for cegep. Originally, I wanted to go to Dawson for Illustration, but I ran out of time to make a portfolio. So, I chose the Graphic and Web Design program at John Abbott College.
Why graphic design?
Because I recognized that the things the program would teach me would still help me in other aspects of my life, even if I didn’t end up with a job in design.
